Whitewater Rafting+Night Jungle Trekking+Caving

An enjoyable and different trip.

After a one-night bus journey from Singapore, we finally reach Gopeng town. We were fetched by the person-in-charge from MyGopeng resort by lorry and it's the start of our journey to be near with the nature.
We were briefed by the person-in-charge of MyGopeng resort regarding our activities and then we headed to put our bags down and prepare for the water-rafting.

-Finally, we reached MyGopeng Resort-

-Free time before the briefing for water-rafting-

After lunch, soon we were on our way to the waters. Before we went in the waters, the instructor taught us some rafting commands (pedal forward or backward, hold on, move to the left/right/front/back, Bom Bom, Jump Jump, etc) and some safety precautions too. We have to learnt how to do body-rafting. This is to give us confidence in the water and know what to do in case we fall into the water.

-Before going into Kampar River-

After that, it's the real water-rafting. It is a level 3 water rafting. Distance is 10km but we only manage to go 7km as it started to rain heavily and the water current began to be quite big. In term of safety, we have to terminate the water journey earlier. Would like to say thanks to the Intructor Adick who guides us all the way thru the rapids.

After having the steamboat dinner, it's the Night Jungle Trekking. The route was slippery and we had to climb up and down and walk through some narrow lane which we have to sidewalk. There was some road which we need to switch off the torchlight, feel and walk in the dark. However, we were lucky to have moonlight to shine our way through. And this is the moment where teamwork plays the most important part as the person in front have to warn the following person what to expect on the road and the message would have to pass down 1 by 1. Thanks for the ranger who helped me out through the slippery and steep jungle walk.

On the following day, we headed for the caving in gua tempurung where we have to crawl through holes, climb some steep slope, slide down the slippery stones, and duck-walk through the underground water. We have to beware of our head as we might bang onto the stalactite ahead. Tiring but it worth the physical challenge.

After the wash up, we headed to Ipoh town for lunch, souvenier and after dinner, it's time for us to take bus to back to Singapore.

All in all, it's an adventurous trip and lots of trilling moments. Although right now having the arm and leg muscle-ache but the trip is very nice. Thousands thanks to YF for organizing this trip, else I think I would not have this chance to have this totally different experience.

2) A group photo
