Back at home. Feeling nice.
Finally everything settled and got the approval from MOM for my EP application. Going for medical check-up next Mon. If everything goes right, I can get my EP done by the end of this month. Going to start working next month. Looking forward~
Went to De Coder's cafe for the 4th time. Lol~ This time round was with BH, YF and Ying. A relax afternoon. I like Cluedo. Next time must play again~
4 episodes more to finish watching "Nodame Cantabile" anime. Really a nice anime. I love the music in it. Suddenly have an urge to go for musical concert. Haha~~
Currently is reading "19 minutes". A bit confused by the plot. (XD) Think the plot will slowly get clearer once I read more into it... (hopefully, hah~)
Signing off......
A change in the blog skin, quite satisfied with the result, lol~ =P
A change in my hairstyle, long time never sees my hair in a smooth and straight conditions le. Price paid is sitting in the hair salon for several hours to have my hair re-bonded. - -|||
A change in employment status, from unemployed to employed. Found an admin job in a local civil engineering company at somewhere near CCK and Kranji. However, it seems like there’s some problem in the work pass application, it’s still not being approved. Hopefully can start working as scheduled. Otherwise, will have to back to square again~~ My job hunting process is“波折重重”。。。XD
I’m watching Nodame Cantabile animation. Like it very much, like the classical music in the show, enjoy listening them. It’s a 享受listening to the music played in it. Always have a liking on piano music. Learning piano has always been my wish, hope can realize it soon.
I’m reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Chinese translated). Still have 2 books on hold, waiting me to read. Thanks Si Li for lending me “19 minutes”. =)
Came across this MS office online training course by chance. Quite a useful website. I’m exploring the applications now, never know that MS office has so many features and functions.

Hah, so these are my recent updates~~ =D Take care and keep it up for everything that everyone is doing now! ^^
Quoted from The Straits Times 03/09/2008:
Worried about entering the working world? Here's your guide to moving smoothly from student to employee.
Be observant
- The first step to making a smooth transition into your new role is to observe how the people around you work and interact.
- Every organisation has its own unique culture and the workplace requires a different set of skills from the university or polytechnic.
- By taking the time to observe how others operate, you will have an understanding of how things work in your new environment and you will be able to make a great impression.
- Never underestimate the importance of building relationships and the positive impact this will have on your work situation.
- You will feel more comfortable asking difficult questions and getting advice from colleagues you have a comfortable relationship with and this will contribute to your success in your new role.
- As you learn more, ask for feedback from people around you, especially your manager. It is never too early to learn the skill of "managing upwards".
- Put simply, this means keeping a good flow of communication between you and your manager, asking for feedback and keeping him informed of your progress on tasks before he has to ask you.
- A classic mistake many new employees make is to work themselves into the ground, believing that this is the best way to impress their colleagues and supervisors.
- In reality, you will make a better impression by working smarter, rather than working harder.
- Resist the temptation to work from home or put in longer hours just to make an impression.
- By doing this, you will run the risk of raising your manager's expectations of what you can reasonably achieve.
- A great skill and an easy one to develop is to approach your manager with solutions rather than problems. When you need t go to your manager with a challenge you are facing, get into the habit of always having a solution in mind.
- By requesting their approval on a solution, you respect their authority and involve them in the decision, but you also make their job easier while showing your initiative.
- Another thing that will help you to get ahead is finding yourself a mentor. Consider what you are looking for in a mentor and then approach the person of your choice. This may be a little daunting, but your chosen person is likely to be flattered and unlikely to turn you down. Alternatively, you may find a mentor relationship which progresses quite naturally after you have been in your job for a while.
- A mentoring relationship is invaluable when you are starting your career. You will have an experienced sounding board to assist you with problems and celebrate your achievements.
- No matter how small the challenge, your mentor will usually have experienced something similar before, and will be familiar with the trials and tribulations you experience on a day-to-day basis.
- Don't put too much pressure on yourself. The transition from studies to a career is exciting and challenging, but everyone makes mistakes along the way.
- You don't need to be perfect to be successful, but you do need initiative, a willingness to learn and a desire to achieve.
This is an article I read this evening. Felt that the advices are quite useful, thus I'm sharing here. Bear with me if this post is too lengthy. =P
** Happy birthday to SK **
It's been a long time since I uploaded photos...
Here are some photos I took when I went to Cyn & Sally's convo on 29 Aug 2008. I like photos that are taken during daytime because they are nicer, hah~ For photos taken at night, to have a better effect, there need to make some adjustment in the camera setting which I haven't figure out yet.
Congrats to Cyn and Sally for their graduation~ =)

Graduation marked the end of undergraduate studies and the beginning of another journey in life. All the best in the future endeavour. =D
Happened yesterday~
Woke up early in the morning, met with CK and NY for breakfast, headed to NUS as NY would like to know more about the environment and take some brochures regarding post-graduate studies.
Went to Faculty of Engineering. I once lost my way here when I was in Year 1. To me, engine fac is like a maze, haha~ Later on, we made a trip to PGPR. Took a rest at TV room. Miss the time we spent there watching TV, studying and supper-ing.
Had lunch at Arts. Went Clementi with NY and Nicole to settle some stuffs before headed to Vivocity to meet CK, Jiang and Cyn for movie. Watched 4Bia. It's a combination of 4 short firms of horror stories. Personally, I think that this movie tends to present the 吓人 scene, not really on its storyline. Maybe because it is a combination of 4 independent stories. It do have its scary and eerie part. Anyway, that's just my personal view. =P
Fran and Jimmy joined us for dinner afterwards. Long time never meet Fran. Spent the rest of the time at the rooftop sky park, chatting with each other and playing logical thinking questions in a book. The questions are so tough~~ =S
*************************************************************************************
CK went back KT and NY went to meet his gf after breakfast this morning. Hope they had a good time for their stay in SG these 2 days. =)
There's an interview tomorrow morning. Thanks NY for telling me about this job opening. Going for Cyn and Sally's convo after the interview. Congratulations on your graduation~ =D
Basically this week in SG is meant for enjoying, lol~
Went for a seminar organized by PA on Mon evening...and got news from them that I'm not being offered the job I applied. Went back home rather disappointed but it's ok... I will not give up so easily =D
Met up with CK and NY, who came to have a 3D2N stay in SG, at Causeway Point on Tue and together with Sally and Cyn, we went to find NY's "hope"... haha, we called it NY's 希望之旅... lol~ However we didn't manage to find his "hope"... Later on, we met Jiang at Newton Food Centre and had our dinner there. Jim and WT joined us afterwards as they came from work. Left for De Coder's cafe(hehe, again~ but it's enjoyable) and along the way, NY's phone rang. Lol~ Tht's the call from our 希望之旅 's female lead-- NY's gf, Nicole. NY had been trying to contact her but to no avail. It's great that eventually they were able to contact each other and Nicole was coming to join us for the game. So, NY had found his "希望"~ haha, no offend ya, NY!
Spent the whole evening at De Coder's cafe, playing games and catching up with each other. And here Regina came after her lec. The bus was so crowded with people, took her 2 hr to reach De Coder's cafe from NUS. @.@ I think we all are belong to those 慢热型,haha~ cuz initially we still very 斯文 when playing the board games. However, when it came to a game which is similar to '比手划脚'... we shouted out the answers and the actions we made were quite funny till we kept laughing at them. And then some '人身攻击' came in... - -" lol~ but no grudge la, it's played for fun~ hehe =)
Around 10pm, we went back home respectively and that's the 1st day of CK n NY's "SG trip".
* To be continued.... *
3. 动画片 -- Ouran High School Host Club, Detective Academy Q, Nodame Cantabile etc。。。
。期待-ing~~~ ^^
Had another round of interview with the company and was asked to sit for exams to obtain the qualification relating to the job. Don't have any confirmation yet but in my opinion, no harm enriching myself with more knowledge. Hah~
Went to watch 'Journey to the centre of the Earth' at Lido Cineplex this afternoon with Cyn. Having quite a 'hard' time on finding its ticketing counter. And I was tripped by some boxes and nearly fell down when I was at the theatre entrance. - -" Anyway, it's a nice movie~~ A lot of thrilled scenes and I was attracted by the movie all along...Great!!! Too pity that not be able to watch in 3D, else can enjoy it fully, will be more 刺激...
After that, took a stroll at Borders and Kinokuniya bookshop... Had a feeling that 书永远都看不完...Silly rite? haha...but that's my feeling when I looked at all the books on the bookselves under fiction... 琳琅满目... there's so many choices...
Went home to have dinner. MRT was so crowded with people, common during 上班 and 下班时段... =| Have to get used to this, lol~
In the middle of reading 'Digital Fortress', there's still half of the book to go~ Can't wait to finish it as soon as possible... Looking forward new books to read! Hehe =D
First, thanks Cyn again for bringing the De Coder's cafe into one of our entertainment choices... lol~
A pretty fun evening playing board games together with Cyn, Sally, Yin, Bill, Jiang and Jim...(too bad WJ and Regina not be able to join us, so next time ya~)
Played until 10pm, the shop closed for the day, then only we head back home. So reluctant to go home...haha...so much wanna continue playing...Next time sure must go again!!! The cafe has around 230 types of games available, but so far we only played 5 or 6 games... and this evening we only managed to play 2 games ("Cluedo" and "Bang!") as this 2 games required a lot of logical thinking and thus need more time...
For "Cluedo", it's a deductive game. From the clues that are collected along the game, the players have to make deduction on who is the culprit, the weapon and where the incident took place. A nice game in logical deduction, can train the mind to think, to narrow down the possibilities so that can be on the right track to get the correct answer.

For "Bang!", as named, we need to 'bang' people... as in we need to shoot people... There are 4 different roles(Sheriff, Deputy, Outlaws and Renegade) with different condition to win the game. Again, it requires some logical thinking to prevent ‘自相残杀’ as the role that each of the player is playing will be kept as secret during the game(except the Sheriff) ... lol~

Took some photos in the shop before going back home. Will upload it after I got all the photos. =)

Went out with Cynthya and Sally this afternoon to De coder's cafe. Quite a good place to hang out with friends, playing various board games and chit-chatting. Thanks Cynthya for recommending a new hang-out place to us, haha~ Next time can go there again with more friends...=)
Here is the link about De Coder's cafe...

The staff there is friendly and nice...It's worth going there to relax, to play games, to de-stress...lol~

Just finished read this book. It is a book written by Dan Brown. It’s very nice!!! Never expected that the story would have a great twist and turn…When I first start to read this book, I felt it is bored, thus I’m quite slow in reading it…hah…Luckily I did not stop reading it half way through, else I won’t be able to know its trilling storyline now…
When a new NASA satellite detects evidence of an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory…a victory that has profound implications for
With the Oval Office in the balance, the president dispatches White House Intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton to the
But before Rachel can make her findings known, she realizes, perhaps too late, that such knowledge puts her and Tolland in deadly jeopardy. Fleeing for their lives in an environment as desolate as it is lethal, they possess only one hope for survival: to find out who is behind this masterful ploy. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all…
“Deception point” started to arouse my interest in finishing it when I read until the middle part of the book. It was where the wonderful part of the story came into picture, held me in suspense, kept me to continue reading it. I read till the end only I knew about the truth of the whole matter.
I like reading this kind of books, especially when there’s a lot of suspense, adventurous and a twisted ending at the end. You won’t know the actual ending or the truth until you finish it. I once read a book named “Sphere” by Michael Crichton is of this similar kind too. I am going to start on a new book named “Contest” by Matthew Reilly. I was recommended that it is a nice book too…hah~ Next few days I am going to be indulged in this book lo~ haha...=P
